I won the Junior Handling Nationals, but due to age restrictions, the runner up Taryn Hamilton went to Crufts and won!!! Congratulations Taryn!

Hi, I am Charlotte de Groot and am 19 years old. I live in Elginburg (near Kingston), Ontario and am taking a pre-health program at St. Lawrence College to prepare for a BScN. Because my study is more important at this time, I will have to cut back till May 2008.

I have been raised with Collies and Chihuahuas, and had my first Collie when I was 8 years old. Currently we have 4 Collies, 5 Chihuahuas and 1 English Setter. I started showing Collies when I was 10 and have learned a lot since. I have taken dog grooming courses at St. Lawrence College to learn as much about dogs as I can.

The last 7 years I have qualified for the Eastern Ontario Zone Jr Handling Finals. In 2003 I tied for Best Overall Jr Handler and after an exciting tie-breaker I ended up Reserve Best Overall Jr Handler. In 2005 and 2006 I was Reserve Best Overall Jr Handler. In 2007 I won my zones and the Junior Handling Nationals in Victoria BC. Due to age restrictions I could not go to Crufts to represent Canada at the International Junior competition in March 2008, in my place, the runner up Taryn Hamilton went and won!

I have earned numerous Best Junior Handler awards, several BPIS, BPIG, Group wins and numerous group placements with a variety of breeds.

I love exhibiting my own dogs as well as showing for others. Please have a look at my portfolio so far.

We feed our dogs Proplan, and it shows.....
